Thermoforming in the Dunnage Industry

DunnageThe dunnage market uses a substantial amount of thermoformed products. Careful packaging with thermoformed dunnage trays and liners is more cost-effective because they keep items clean and protected during transport. With a state of the art custom thermoforming machine from MODERN, you could produce dunnage items such as trays for beverage distributors, shipping trays for delicate electronic components, trays for textile spools, thermoformed pallets, and much more.

Material handling and dunnage products are produced on both shuttle and rotary cut sheet thermoforming equipment utilizing vacuum, pressure and twin sheet processes. The thermoforming equipment ranges from cut sheet sizes on all to 2’x2’ up to as large as 12’ x20’. We can make whatever size you request, as we are a custom shop. These cut sheets are for materials such as polypropylene, HDPE, and HIPS and conductive HIPS.

Smaller, thinner gauge products can be produced using Modern Machine continuous thermoformers, trim presses, and tooling with configurations including production from roll stock or in-line extrusion and with either rule/forge die or match metal trim.
